See 20 amazing scarecrows created by students in the University of Hawaii-Manoa Apparel Product Design & Merchandising program.  Pick up a People’s Choice ballot and vote for your favorite.  By voting, you could qualify to win Dinner for a Year at Ward!  Vote online too at Honolulu.Advertiser.com.

Saturday, October 18, 10 am to 2 pm
Ward Warehouse Stage Area
Watch student teams as they race to finish their scarecrows by 12 noon.  Then walk Scarecrow Row and enjoy free entertainment till 3 pm.
Scarecrows will be moved to 20 “host” Ward stores for display and voting beginning at 5 pm through October 31.
Top 5 student teams will win a total of $3000 in scholarship awards!

Halloween at Compadres.  Display of scarecrows created by the PACT Community Teen Center.  October 10-31.

Borders hosts a Halloween Spooktacular!  Halloween paper bag craft.  Monster Freeze Trick or Treat Train.  Meet the illustrator of the book, Geckos Trick or Treat.  October 26.  1:00pm

Annual Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest – Enter your costumed pooch to win ghastly goodies from The Pet Spot!  October 26, 1-3pm.  Ward Warehouse Stage

Friday, October 31

Annual Trick-or-Treat Street
Look for the black bats over the entrances of participating Ward stores and restaurants and keiki receive free treats.  6 pm to 8 pm

Streetside Costume Contest
7:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Strut your stuff on stage streetside of the Ward Entertainment Center in front of a panel of celebrity judges.  Winners will be announced the next morning on HonoluluAdvertiser.com so that you can continue on your night of Halloween fun.  Visit the website to pre-register.  Ten additional contestants will be selected from the crowd that night.  Prizes include an outer island vacation for 2, Family 4-Pack to “Cirque du Soleil’s Saltimbanco”, and Ward Centers Gift Cards.  Open to ages 16+.
