WARD CENTERS INVITES LOCAL NONPROFITS AND SCHOOL GROUPS TO PARTICIPATE IN POPULAR FESTIVAL OF GIVING HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER

HONOLULU—Ward Centers invites local nonprofit organizations and school groups to raise money for their causes by selling tickets for Festival of Giving, a three-day shopping extravaganza that takes place from Nov. 4-6, 2011. The $10 tickets give shoppers exclusive discounts and special offers from more than 100 participating shops and restaurants throughout Ward Centers, as well as free gift wrapping, entertainment and other festivities. Participating nonprofit groups will begin selling Festival of Giving tickets in September, and the organizations will keep 100 percent of their ticket proceeds.

Festival of Giving is a major fundraiser for many local charities and school groups, and is designed to help organizations raise money with little effort. Last year’s event drew thousands of shoppers and raised a record $157,970 for more than 137 nonprofit organizations.

Interested nonprofits are encouraged to attend a special informational meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. RSVPs are requested by Wednesday, Aug. 17; meeting details will be provided upon receipt.
