WARD CENTERS WELCOMES NEW MERCHANTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2/12/09 – Ward Centers kicked off the new year by welcoming new merchants to its family of over 135 shops and eateries. In January, In4m Boardshop opened its doors at Ward Warehouse, and in February, Brian’s Hawaiian Kitchen and Expressions Portrait Studio also opened at Ward Warehouse. February also welcomed Hurley’s first retail store on O‘ahu at Ward Entertainment Center. Later this spring and through the summer, Ward Centers will be busy with the opening of Blazin’ Steaks at Ward Warehouse, Taco Del Mar at Ward Centre, and the completion of Sports Authority’s newly expanded Ward Gateway Center store. Several popular Ward Centers stores will also be reopening in new locations in the next few months, including Marukai 99 Store and Pictures Plus.

Brian’s Hawaiian Kitchen – Located at Ward Warehouse near the amphitheatre stage, Brian’s Hawaiian Kitchen offers plate lunches at affordable prices, including chicken katsu, mochiko chicken and hamburger steak.

Expressions Portrait Studio – Expressions Portrait Studio at Ward Warehouse located on the second floor, specializes in high school senior portraits and family and children portraits. The full-service studio offers make-up application and a wardrobe.

Hurley – Popular surf and skate brand Hurley opened its first O‘ahu retail location at Ward Entertainment Center on February 5, 2009. Hurley carries men’s and women’s apparel and accessories for infants, children, teens, and adults.

In4m Boardshop – The owners of popular skateboard and lifestyle store, In4mation, opened up a new shop on the second floor at Ward Warehouse dedicated entirely to skateboard gear and apparel. In4m Boardshop offers popular and classic skateboard brands, including Diamond Supply Co., Shut NYC, Independent, Spitfire, Girl, and more.

Sports Authority – In late summer, Sports Authority will complete its expansion into the space formerly occupied by Pictures Plus and Marukai 99 Store, adding 17,000 square feet to the retail store. The extra space will enable Sports Authority to include additional quality brands to its large collection of sports apparel, gear and accessories.

Marukai 99 Store – Marukai 99 Store will relocate to Ward Farmers Market this spring.

Pictures Plus – Pictures Plus will relocate from the Ward Gateway Center to Ward Warehouse in the space opposite The Chowder House. Pictures Plus is projected to open in its new location in April.

Misfortune – Popular Ward Centre women’s boutique, Misfortune, will reopen at its current location in late February under new ownership.

Blazin’ Steaks – Blazin’ Steaks is opening a location at Ward Warehouse next to Dairy Queen/Orange Julius this spring.

Taco Del Mar – Taco Del Mar will open in July at the Ward Centre streetfront, next to the Crazy Shirts Outlet.
