Ben & Jerry's Raises Money For Monkeys

WHO: Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop WHAT: Grand Opening Celebration and Benefit WHEN: Saturday, August 12, noon to 6 p.m. WHERE: Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop in Ward Centre DETAILS: To celebrate its grand opening, Ben & Jerry’s at Ward Centre will sell $1 ice cream cones from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 12. All proceeds will go toward the Honolulu Zoo’s adoption program. In addition, to honor Ben & Jerry’s popular Chunky Monkey flavor, the company will adopt the zoo’s spider monkeys. Proceeds from the day will be used to upkeep the monkey enclosure. Ben & Jerry’s and the Honolulu Zoo Society will also give away a birthday party for 20 people at the zoo, four behind-the-scenes primate tours, and Ben & Jerry’s merchandise. The grand prize is a Sony PS2 game station. The festivities will also include music, a zoo exhibit, mask making, and even a four-person-team ice cream eating contest called Vermonster! Ben & Jerry’s is the newest addition to the exciting new row of Ward Centre street front shops along Auahi Street.
