Over a hundred years ago, Victoria Ward and her husband Curtis Perry Ward, shared
a unique business partnership and created an estate extending from Thomas Square
to the shore. Their former home, "Old Plantation", is the site of Blaisdell Concert
Hall. When Curtis died in 1882, Victoria Ward and her daughters carried on the
family business which continues to influence Honolulu's commercial and retail
development to this day.
Today Victoria Ward, Limited is a private real estate holding company that
owns 65 acres of land and approximately 1,300,000 square feet of building under
lease in Kakaako, the retail hub of Honolulu. The company is the owner and
developer of the VICTORIA WARD CENTERS, which includes Ward Centre, Ward Farmers
Market, Ward Gateway Center, Ward Village Shops, The Ward Warehouse, and a new 150,000 sq. ft.
entertainment center, which will open in summer 2001. Victoria Ward, Limited also owns and
operates office, commercial and industrial properties.
