Travel Guide
-
Weather: Sunny skies and balmy breezes are abundant in Honolulu. Though the air is fairly humid, trade winds and average day-time temperatures in the upper-80's make for comfortable conditions year-round.
- Attire: If you're walking to and around the centers, you will want to dress comfortably - t-shirts, shorts, and comfortable shoes are always high-fashion in Hawaii (add a light windbreaker during winter months). Most of the centers are partially or entirely open-air, so get ready to enjoy Honolulu's wonderful weather.
- Finding Your Way: Once you get to Ward Centers, just look for one of our large directories or pick up a destination map to find your way to any one of the exciting shops, restaurants, services or amenities.
- Making Time to Enjoy the Sights: You'll want to set aside at least two hours to enjoy all that the four-block neighborhood has to offer (though it's easy to spend the entire day here). Each part of the property offers a unique view of local living. Many of the businesses are one-of-a-kind, locally owned, "Mom & Pop" shops. Though national retailers enjoy a presence, much of the merchandise is unique to Ward Centers.
- Photo Opportunities: The land that Ward Centers sits on is rich with history, lush with lots of native Hawaiian foliage and fun store facades. With Ala Moana Beach Park across the street, you'll want to have lots of film on hand to capture your visit.
- Who Goes to Ward Centers?: The area is known as a favorite spot for locals to shop, dine, and spend time. Although mainland and international visitors alike enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and local-style hospitality, Ward Centers is definitely the place to go to experience island living.
