From the wholesome, authentic Mexican cuisine to the fresh-bar style signature margaritas to the Guadalajara- and Yucatan-inspired décor, Pablo’s Cantina is spicing up Honolulu’s restaurant scene.  Located on the second floor of Ward Centre, Pablo’s Cantina is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. for lunch, pau hana, dinner and late-night dining.

Pablo’s Cantina showcases authentic Mexican cuisine using the fresh, high-quality ingredients Hawaii has to offer, and guests will be transported to different regions of Mexico through the restaurant’s food, cocktails, and atmosphere.

The menu at Pablo’s Cantina reflects Mexico’s diverse food culture and features regional specialty dishes from around the country, including Oaxaca, the Yucatan Peninsula, and the Pacific Coast. Among its signature dishes are Queso Fundido Chorizo, Molcajete, Enchiladas Sonora, Pescado a la Veracruzana and Pastel de Tresh Leche. Diners at Pablo’s Cantina can also order Guacamole A Tu Mesa, made in a traditional lava-rock mortar and prepared tableside, a first in Hawaii.  All of the salsas, sauces, tortilla chips and desserts are prepared fresh daily on premises and the restaurant’s corn tortillas are also made fresh using a proprietary recipe.

While the Pablo’s menu offerings include familiar items like burritos and tacos, it also features traditional but lesser known ingredients such as nopales, or prickly pear cactus, in several dishes. The restaurant is also sourcing goat and quail to expand its authentic menu in the near future.

Pablo’s Cantina also takes a fresh approach when it comes to its signature drinks. Its cocktails are based on authentic Mexican recipes infused with south-of-the-border flavor profiles made from Island sourced herbs, spices, fruits and peppers, handcrafted with traditional and modern mixology techniques. Fruit juices and mixes are made fresh on-site daily, including up to 15 gallons of fresh lime juice and more than 50 gallons of sweet and sour mix.

The house cocktail, the Cazadores Tequila Margarita, is masterfully crafted to showcase the world-class flavors and complexity created when fresh-pressed sweet and sour mix is bruised to perfection and served on the rocks with premium Cazadores Tequila Reposado.  Pablo’s Cantina is also introducing patrons to sangrita, a customary tomato- and lime-based partner to a straight shot of tequila, which is available in three flavors – cilantro, basil and wasabi. The sangrita is meant to complement the pepper and citrus flavors of the agave tequila.

Paying homage to the previous tenant, Compadres, bits of memorabilia, including the neon sign that hung in the bar, can be found in Pablo’s Cantina’s décor.  The restaurant is also bringing back “Taco Tuesdays”.

Monday Madness: Monday Night Football beer and drink specials
Taco Tuesdays: $1 and $2 tacos and drink specials from 4 to 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close
Friday Pau Hana Happy Hour: Drink specials from 4 to 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Sunday is Funday: Keiki under 12 eat for $5 all day; NFL food and drink specials and industry night

Weekday lunch special from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Two fish tacos or a burger and French fries with a soft drink for just $10.
