Ward Centers Raises More Than $200,000 for 140 Local Nonprofits
HONOLULU—This past holiday season, the spirit of giving was in full effect as Ward Centers
helped to raise more than $200,000 for 140 deserving local non-profit organizations.
Ward Centers’ Festival of Giving, a popular three-day shopping event that took place Nov. 4-6,
raised more than $175,180 for 135 local nonprofit organizations and school groups.
Participating organizations sold $10 tickets to the event, of which each nonprofit retained 100
percent of their ticket sale proceeds. The tickets provided shoppers with exclusive discounts
and special offers at more than 100 shops and restaurants throughout Ward Centers, in addition
to complimentary massages and other festivities.
Other popular holiday events at Ward Centers that benefitted local nonprofits include: Photos
with Santa Paws, which raised approximately $5,000 for the Hawaiian Humane Society; Senior
Giving Trees, which collected 511 gifts for seniors via Catholic Charities Hawaii; Honolulu City
Lights Trolley Tour, which raised $10,215 for the Hawaii Foodbank; and Ward Centers’ holiday
gift wrapping stations that raised approximately $10,328 total for the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society and Habitat for Humanity.
