T.J. Maxx Joins Ward Centers
HONOLULU ─ Ward Centers today made several major announcements including the addition of national retailer T.J. Maxx as a new tenant, and the launch of a series of capital improvements to the entire complex that began with the completion of its 732-stall parking garage and the adjacent Ward Village Shops, which will be the location of T.J. Maxx.
Off-price retailer T.J. Maxx is scheduled to open 35,000 square feet of retail space on the second floor of the new Ward Village Shops building in the spring of 2012.
“T.J. Maxx is a significant new addition to Ward Centers,” said David Striph, senior vice president-Hawaii, The Howard Hughes Corporation. “Its brand strength and national reputation will enhance the appeal of Ward Centers and offer a new, exciting shopping option to local residents and visitors alike.”
T.J. Maxx is the first major tenant in the newly completed Ward Village Shops and parking structure complex. The centers now boast more than 4,000 parking stalls throughout the 60-acre destination, providing ease of access to its shoppers.
The completion of the parking structure was the first phase of a multi-million dollar revitalization project for Ward Centers. Additional improvements will include landscaping and a variety of facility improvements throughout Ward Centers.
“We are very eager to begin implementing these various capital improvements throughout the centers over the next months,” said Striph. “We look forward to seeing the transformation of Ward Centers, which will provide shoppers a locale that is energized, inviting and more accessible.”
